Kerala Automobiles Limited (KAL) has developed an innovative electric garbage collection cart designed for efficient, eco-friendly waste management. The vehicle is specially built to meet the requirements of local self-government institutions and urban municipalities for daily waste collection operations.
The highlight of this e-cart is its dual-compartment garbage box, fabricated with two separate sections for dry and wet waste. This enables effective segregation of waste at the source and supports systematic disposal and recycling, in line with Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines. The compartments are leak-proof, corrosion-resistant and built to withstand daily operational wear and tear.
To ease the disposal process and minimize manual effort, the e-cart is equipped with a hydraulic tipping mechanism. This system allows the garbage box to be tilted effortlessly at the push of a lever, enabling quick and hygienic unloading of waste at designated collection or dumping sites. It greatly improves efficiency and reduces the physical burden on sanitation workers.
